About Joane Goulding and the process known

as the Goulding SleepTalk Method

head and shoulders photo of Joane Goulding founder of the SleepTalk MethodIn 1974, Joane Goulding pioneered the development of the Goulding SleepTalk Method®.

SleepTalk was initially developed from working with her own severely disabled daughter Michelle, who faces multiple challenges in her life. Michelle grapples with dyspraxia, a condition affecting both gross and fine motor skills, occasionally impacting cognitive function. Additionally, Michelle contends with dyslexia. Despite Michelle's enduring intellectual and emotional IQ of approximately 45, as well as the ongoing physical obstacles presented by cerebral palsy and dyspraxia, the Goulding SleepTalk Method has brought about a remarkable transformation in her life. Since 1990, Michelle has enjoyed a successful marriage and lives independently with her husband.

By 1979, formal professional training programs were established, marking the beginning of her global journey to disseminate this valuable knowledge. Joane embarked on extensive travels, crossing borders to participate in international conferences, where she imparted her profound wisdom to professional consultants and trainers worldwide.

Joane's remarkable qualities as a psychotherapist and speaker made her a beloved figure in her field. Her enthusiasm and wealth of experience were evident in every interaction. Her dedication to sharing SleepTalk, the Goulding Method® knew no bounds as she crisscrossed the globe, introducing this innovative approach to parents, families, psychologists, psychiatrists, general practitioners, and professionals from diverse healthcare domains.

Beyond her therapeutic accomplishments, Joane is also a published author, holding qualifications in Psycho-nutrition, Training, Assessment, Education, Supervision, and Clinical Hypnotherapy.

Through her speaking engagements and training commitments, she has consistently strived to promote the adoption of a secure process that fosters emotional intelligence, nurturing attachments, and an enduring sense of acceptance for future generations.

While Joane retired from professional and international training endeavors in 2019, her expertise continues to benefit the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia (HCA), where she serves as a respected consultant. Joane is recognized as one of the country's most knowledgeable teachers of hypnosis, hypnotherapy and, of course, the Goulding SleepTalk Method.
